Your Quick Guide to Getting Married in Las Vegas

There's no question about Las Vegas being a top choice for weddings. In fact, it is known as the wedding capital of the world, offering an almost unlimited array of choices of styles, themes, venues and the rest. You can have your wedding in a chapel, garden, even a golf course or anywhere across the famed city.

Certainly, a Las Vegas wedding is one to remember, but as in any other place where people get married, there are steps and legalities necessary before you can say your precious "I do's."

Documents

First off, you need to get your documents ready, starting with a passport or driver's license for identification. If you have neither, a certified copy of your birth certificate will do. And if you've been married, you will also need to provide a copy of your final divorce decree. If you're younger than 18, you have to take your parents to the License Bureau where they can signify their consent to the planned marriage. If they can't come, a notarized letter of consent will be acceptable.

License

Once your paperwork is in place, you can proceed to getting your wedding license, which will cost you around $55. You have to apply personally at the Marriage License Bureau, complete with your documents. This office is located at 200 S. 3rd Street and open from 8 in the morning to midnight. One of the best things about getting married in Vegas is the zero waiting period for your license. It will be issued immediately!

Chapel

Next, find a wedding chapel but be warned - there are hundreds of them. No exaggeration. There's a whole variety out there, from themed to drive-through and practically anything else you can imagine. Just drive down the Las Vegas Strip and you'll find everything right there. For Vegas Wedding Chapels with more exotic locations, just ask at your hotel.

Witness and Photographer

Lastly, you have to choose a witness to the wedding. If you can't find one, the Las Vegas Wedding Chapels will be happy to provide. They may even also offer you a photographer.

Whether you've been planning your Vegas wedding for months or hours or even minutes, it can be possible with all of the above in place. Of course, there are other things you might need, like flowers, a restaurant or your dress or suit. But when it comes to the absolute necessities, these are the things you have to take care of. After all, marriage is legal matter. For more details about wedding chapel, check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapel.
